History

The club was founded in 1928 and was originally based at the open air swimming pool at Rhos on Sea. It was known as the Roman Swimming and Diving Club and opened from mid May until mid September. Suspended for the War years of 1939-1945, the club reopened in 1947 under the new name of Colwyn Bay Amateur Swimming Club.  Under changes authorised by Swim Wales, the name of the club was changed to Nofio Bae Colwyn on 01 September 2024.  Training sessions are held at the pool in Colwyn Leisure Centre.

The club has been based at many different venues in the intervening years from Rydal swimming pool in 1964, Pontyn’s Holiday Camp in Prestatyn, Bangor and for a short time at the Aberconwy school swimming pool. Finally finding our current home in the Colwyn Leisure Centre at Eirias Park since 1981.
